The Scientific Council of PSAU held its first Session for the academic year 1439/1440. The session was chaired by Dr Abdul Rahman bin Ibrahim Al-Khdeiry, Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. As Chairman of the Board, Dr. Alkhdeiry began the meeting with praising Allah and pray and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, then gave his pleasure to thank all Councillors retiring at the previous session of the Board, as well as to all members of the Scientific Council, Scientific Council preparatory standing committees for their time and effort to enrich the discussion and decisions that have been taken over the years. Also, Dr. Alkhdeiry welcomed his new members which are included in the Scientific Council of the University, wished them success, and urged them to do more to continue the work of the Scientific Council with the same alacrity and activity. In addition, Dr. Alkhdeiry transferred a thankful letter from the rector to the members of Scientific Council and its related standing committees for their transparent and confidential discussion of different subjects, and for creating operational and procedural regulations, which reserve a place for the University among Saudi top advanced Universities.

The Council has issued some recommendations for appointing a number of faculty members from those who were on scholarships and have recently acquired a PhD degree. Furthermore, the Council did not agree to promote (2) of the Faculty of the University.

The Council also approved the formation of committees to examine the scientific production of the applicants for promotions. agreed to form a Committee of arbitrators to examine the book, recommend approval of the annual report of educational sciences in University of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz for academic year 1438/1439, recommend approval of the resignation of a Lecturer, recommend approval of retired teaching assistant, recommend approval of transfer of faculty within the University, and recommend approval of faculty member apologized for attending a training session because of the cancellation.
